Saw some small schools in the sound, Smithton Bay, today "blitzing bait" on top. Must be working their way towards the harbors. They were pretty small.
Tried for a half an hour with a new mini umbrella fixed with my tried and true bucktail hair and flashaboo teasers on #6 chestertown hooks without a bite yesterday. Fortunately pink and white were gobbled by summer weaks, but no snappers here yet. Latest I have ever seen this happen. Maybe a complete moratorium and not a limit of 3 is in order ? I only caught one blue all June. Granted it was a fluke fishing by-catch but where are those yellow eyed devils ?
