Fished the bay again this morning almost no action 2 keepers one short 3 robins one or two hits besides what I mentioned.Sure looks like a repeat of last year.
If you think about it Jamaica bay fishing has changed for the worse ever since Super Storm Sandy hit.Bait is almost non existent and crabs are gone. There are so many areas in the bay that always produced fish that are like fishing a desert now.
I bought years ago what I think is the best little knife sharpener I have ever owned on my boat.I needed replacement blades now after about 6 years so I thought I would post it here.I have mine mounted on my cleaning table.

Fished all over Jamaica bay yesterday pretty slow three or four shorts a couple of robins.Hit one drift before calling it a day and nailed 3 keepers 20-22".I dont like the fact that there are not many shorts around.
When I was a kid my Father would take me to Pops fishing station in Seaford we would rent a skiff and go fishing for Fluke. We used to catch tons of blowfish they are still my favorite fish to eat.
OK fished the outgoing and the beginning of the incoming tides had 5 fish on the outgoing 3 of which were keepers and 1 keeper on the incoming.Better start then last year hope it lasts.Oh ya there were 2 party boats fishing in the bay with fares thought they were shut down!
