I wonder why the CDC has not come up with a vaccine yet
Probably because they dont know shit and are infested with people who spin in circles accomplishing nothing on a regular basis.

Vaccine Development, Testing, and Regulationl

Vaccine development is a long, complex process, often lasting 10-15 years and involving a combination of public and private involvement.
The current system for developing, testing, and regulating vaccines developed during the 20th century as the groups involved standardized their procedures and regulations.

As the war between the virus and the economy continues to play out, the news is grim, but not surprising. From yesterday's NY Times...

CHICAGO — The world has entered a “new and dangerous phase” of the coronavirus pandemic, a top official from the World Health Organization said on Friday, a stark warning that came as the United States struggled to control spiraling outbreaks and as business leaders signaled growing unease with the country’s ability to effectively contend with the virus.

Coronavirus cases spiked sharply across the American South and West, particularly in states that loosened restrictions on businesses several weeks ago.

In Florida, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Arizona, daily counts of new coronavirus cases reached their highest levels of the pandemic this week. Texas, which has seen known cases double in the past month, became the sixth state to surpass 100,000 cases, according to a New York Times database of cases in the United States.

Around the country, there were indications that major companies and sports teams were changing their own plans as the new surges emerged.

Traffic delays yesterday for the first time in a long time.....so we are opening up again and what exactly is different from when we shut down...the virus is still out there...no vaccine....PPE and social distance just doesn't really happen......so we will spike again? or not!!

I don't think anybody actually thought this was over, and plenty of the people advising us said it was going to spike when things re-opened.

I thought the whole idea was to "flatten the curve", which we did. A little too well, in fact. But nobody ever said this was going away any time soon.

You just can't shut down an entire country for long enough for the virus to actually go away. Things have to start moving again, hopefully with more awareness and precautions and the chips are going to have to fall.

people who think that assume those chips will fall on someone else....KARMA thinks otherwise...be careful what you wish for

Never said that. Just acknowledging the reality that until there's a vaccine people will continue to catch it. I guess you think we can just hide in our houses for another year or so? That's not realistic either.

Why do you have to go to the extreme example of "I guess you think we can just hide in our houses for another year or so"? That is such a ridiculous analogy and he never said it. You seem to have to use such ridiculous statements to bolster your POV. How about we just keep social distancing and wear masks in public. How about we limit the amount of people in gatherings. Nobody is saying stay locked in your house for another year.
