At some point we all have to accept Mother Nature's call to end the quest. I am still hopeful I might get in this Friday with a NW breeze. However, I am not very confident about the steady Westerly wind forecast for the rest of the weekend.
So, if I am lucky Black Friday will be my last trip...
Actually, I already tried that plan, but I guess my life is only worth half of what you might think.
That's how I wound up in a 28' Albin. :ROFLMAO:
No complaints as she is a great boat. Frankly with the current conditions it would not be all that much more comfortable on a larger vessel.
I'm...
It does seem that the wind factor appears to get worse each fall. I can fish almost any day the weather allows and looking at the current forecast I think my season just ended this past Wednesday.
If things don't change that will mean 11 straight days ending on Sunday 12/1 where I can't find a...
Actually, my bad Pete. I did a lousy job of showing off the size on that nice Tog. Usually, my photo skills are much better. At least you had the enjoyment of both catching and later eating that fine specimen!
With the number of fishable days in my Tog season fading fast I had to take advantage of Wednesday’s gift from the weatherman. My good friends Lep and Mitch from the board joined me as we headed straight to Fishers on a flat calm sea.
As has been the pattern now for my last 3 trips all I needed...

Excellent way to close out your season, Vinnie. Any day you can catch a larger fish than the "legend" is a really good one!:ROFLMAO:
I still have 4 charters on my books between tomorrow and next Sunday 12/1 the official close of my season. I will be thrilled if I can even get one day in...
Glad to see you were rewarded for toughing it out today. I actually postponed my charter after looking at the predicted conditions last evening and seeing what I had to deal with tide wise on yesterday's trip.
Holy cow, George! What a great accomplishment.
I lived in south Florida for 2 years in the early 70's and visited my parents there for the next 30 years + after returning to NY. During all the time I lived there I never caught a Snook or a Tarpon. My Dad, avid fisherman that he was, did, catch...
Well done, AllyKat.
It is always a good idea to have the foundational knowledge of how to anchor properly with traditional ground tackle. What really impressed me is how you improvised using both the TM and the standard anchor to overcome a more challenging situation. Way to go!!!
Dodging the windy days is now a fact of life if you want to fish Tog in the eastern Sound! After missing Saturday, on Sunday I had Joe, his son Roland, and friend John join me for another crack at the Blackfish.
With plenty of left over NW breeze and a super strong full moon flood tide the ride...

I do stand corrected about this particular fish, Matts I don't really concentrate on any of the pelagics and the differences can be fairly small. Sorry for the error.
Thanks very much for the kind words, Roccus.
While I do have my share of good days, the only "throne" I occupy regularly is the one that flushes!!!:ROFLMAO:
