Here we go. Another narcissist who thinks the world owes him an explanation if they disagree with him.
Turned a simple thread into yet another political pissing match. Same old, same old.
I'm on the fence now and watching your video was disturbing. Even with boardings, these poachers are making alot of money. Many fish every day under the radar. If you force DEC to get warrants, you'll never catch someone in the act. There needs to be something in place where a perp is observed...
A longtime Jbay fisherman and know poacher just got in busted. 35 bluefish over the limit. 10 in the cooler. The rest hidden around the boat. Do we applaud DEC for the bust or complain that they shouldn't have searched the is boat?
Roccus7 has been sounding the alarm on this and I agree. What is causing spawning failure and is it out of our control?
Does the striped bass need to be supported by an onshore breeding and river stocking program?
Should that be the focus rather than regulations that do not address the source...
Apples and oranges.
The thread was about boardings on the water which, as I stated is protected by law. Following someone to a parking lot is harassment plain and simple.
I agree that expectations need to change for every user group. Just because your grandfather dragged on the Southside of Montauk catching thousands of fluke doesn't mean you should be allowed to! (Yes, I had that argument)
Funny you should mention that. I've worked in Brooklyn for 30+years. When I owned my Yukon with tinted windows, I was pulled over about once a month. When I showed my work ID they let me go. I have nothing to hide. I don't fear but welcome law enforce checking me!
Is there ever a "correct" way to enforce the law?
In a conversation with a friend about the West Indian parade in Brooklyn, years ago, some superiors were so worried about wrongful arrests that they ordered officers to to ignore gun shots unless the saw the perp with a gun in their hand.
Do...
Freedoms......what a joke.
Stop and see frisk was the single biggest deterrent of crime in NYC but unfortunately couldn't survive the liberal axe.
Being stopped and questioned by a boat with 6 armed federalies in Panama was a fairly good deterrent.
Getting boarded is not such a big deal as...
Now YOUR WRONG hawk.
One gillnet can catch more fish on one tide that all of the others combined!
I think the for hire fleet should get tags. This would allow them to allocate fish based on the client. Some would want 1 or 2 fish. Some want to fill the freezer or smoker.
For hires are small...
