    NY Rangers

A win is a win. I can't believe they almost lost on a too many men on the ice penalty and the last 2 min. were played in front of their goal, but I'll take it too!

    Brown Liquor of the Moment

A friend got this as a business gift. Not sure it (or anything) is worth the price, but it sure went down smooth. I wish it could stay my brown liquor of the moment!

It seems that it will initiate a search for you, as it is only to be activated in life or death situations.

    My Latest Piece of Kit

TheHullTruth thread got me thinking about a rescue beacon, since I'd hate to be floating from midnight till someone finds me the next morning. A $100 flashing light might work once someone begins a search, but who knows how long that will take. Saw this, but does anyone else have thoughts...

It's hard to stay focused when things are slow.

    NY Rangers

Last night I watched the Knicks crush the Celtics. Was Boston in a slump or more likely, were they on cruise control? Hopefully the Rangers are merely running out the season clock and conserving health for the playoffs.

    Jets

Saw a post commenting that the eclipse lasted more minutes than Rogers' playing time with the Jets.

    NY fish regulations

On my own boat, I do like to come home with at least two fish and could live with 2 at 18.5. How much fluke do I need to keep? But on a party/charter, I'd rather have 3 at 19.5, even 4 at 20. I can still remember 14" and a thousand boats drifting under RMB all summer.

The Art of the Bad Deal: Criticize the asset you hope to trade for someone better. "Johnson, who last month criticized Wilson's 2023 performance, walked back those comments, perhaps in a Hail Mary attempt to stimulate interest in the former first-round pick. "

Black Hole Charter Special - Now 3 of a Kind

Maybe all that labor is worth one 8#+ Orient Point blackfish? I really liked the feel of the Shimano Game, but with no real fore grip, I opted for the Grappler for bouncing 6oz+ sinkers all day for fluke. Too bad they don't sell the blanks.

    Finally, the "Perfect" Tide Clock...

Between the tide flooding from the east river, and flooding from the eastern sound, and the north/south orientation of the bays, and the string of islands from City Island to the east, it gets pretty tricky to figure out which way the water is going to be flowing in the extreme western sound...

    Gas prices 2019 and beyond

Just so we're all on the same page, Biden's buddies are the oil industry and simultaneously those attacking the oil industry to reduce demand? Sometimes capitalism is bad? BTW, who appointed CEO of Exxon Sec'y of State? Price of gas: March 2016: 1.85 March 2017: 2.34 (up 26%) March 2018: 2.60...

    St Johns Basketball

It reinforces the concept he’s more interested in his personal legacy than loyalty to any one school and also suggests he wears out his welcome in many places! On Monday, you give a speech to your team about sacrifice and putting the team ahead of yourself. Then Wednesday, you quit the team...

The COVID-19 Science and Medicine Question Thread

What I found fascinating were the comments. It was like a time machine back to 2021. Thankfully, scientists continue to study the disease, which continues to mutate. One thing is clear, virology and immunology are complicated sciences and a full mastery requires more than a few hours of...
