Whether Lund or Steiger, still see you pushing the envelope to get out there John! Was just up there for some blackfishing but was further west. Enjoy the reports now that I'm a lake fishing Carolinian. Be well, catch'em up.
Both times it happened to my friends 30hp tiller etec it was a cooling issue. Once it was the water pump and the other time the thermostat. The engine goes into "limp mode" and does not let you throttle up in order to prevent overheating. Best of luck with the issue.
Drum roll please... Where do you think the Avian Influenza was first detected?

Reminds me of an encounter I had at Caumsett State Park about 30 years ago in late September. I was wading in the water about waist high catching schoolies stripers when I had something slam into me. All I could think of in that instant was a shark just banged into me to see what was for dinner...
George I’m not happy to see it happen. I moved out there in the late 90’s with a young family because it was affordable.I worked in the city (FDNY) and although the commute wasn’t easy I never minded because I loved what I did and loved where we lived. Anyhow I don’t want to derail the purpose...
Capt. Mike as a "leftover" you realize you live and work on the north annex of the south fork. This is my opinion, but over the last ten plus years and especially since covid there has been a huge influx of wealthy individuals who will pay whatever it takes to get what they want. Sorry to say...
Hey John. Kept my boat by Dr. John and next to Mike (Super Crabby) until 2019. Definitely wasn’t because a lack of bait at the Shoals it just seemed the fish stopped showing up. Prior, you could count on a good run of fish in June. Skinner always found them but it seems like from his videos (and...

Live on the North Fork and have been doing the jig thing for several years now. I use Tidal Tails 1/2-1 ounce. Sometimes I’ll use 2oz. but at that point I’m more inclined to go conventional with a Snafu rig. My rod and reel are a St. Croix 6’6” MHF Tidemaster TI66MHF with a Shimano Stradic...
Hey John hope all is well. Having lived out here 20 years full time now I can tell you that in the last 5 years or so the North Fork has become the “North annex of the South Fork”. With it has come increased car and boat traffic, bourgie restaurants, increased prices for services, and...
Don’t usually comment but this time I will. You’re 100% wrong about your “cash flow” theory. These increased patrols were necessitated because of a large number of out of town residents who were using our beaches and leaving garbage everywhere and relieving themselves wherever they found fit all...
Same assessment. If you are not sure the economy is good, go to the show. The boat displays and prices definitely reflected it. Spent the most time at Steiger. If you take the LIRR ask for the boat show package ($28.50 round trip including boat show ticket from Ronkonkoma).
