With my preference for warmer weather kayakfishing, my wife just getting her second cataract surgery yesterday, I haven't even taken the cover off our Sea Pro yet, but I did give my shoulders a try last week and with OK results. I had shot a recurve for a few years until the "unSAFE" Act of our precious governor convinced me to sell off some semi-auto rifles I had. Used some of the money to get a compound setup from Smith Point Archery in Patchogue. (Highly recommend them there.) Two years ago a lot of shoulder problems surfaced. Tried accupuncture, some relief, but the physical therapy and a cortisone shot last spring helped more. Finally decided to see if I could handle the bow which I dialed down to just 39 or 40 lb pull. Went to the county range at Cedar Creek Park and got off 5 sets before the 6th had me straining a bit. Accuracy was there, and so was the enjoyment. Weather stays this cool I will probably go again. A word of caution for you new to Cedar Creek. If you don't bring it you ain't got it. Its like shooting at Calverton but worse, no restrooms or even a porta john. Uncrowded on weekdays. sometimes a horror show on weekends.
