LOL, they love to eat the poplars, which I hate, BUT The Admiral adores so it's my duty to my liege lord is to make them sleep with the fishes. Additionally, all the dog owners here appreciate their demise...

Native Americans claim that the Great Father put porcupines on earth so no one starved. Never had one, but would probably opt for a young one, this was a big ole one!!

I had two Federal Officers observing me fishing this AM. Not common to see 2 in the same tree, the tend not to share well...

Holy Crap!! A bobcat just sashayed across the backyard. Never seen one during the middle of day.

2 hrs later, I figured we must have gotten a rave review on the Porcupine Yelp. Our leisurely late lunch was interrupted by me seeing another porcupine. Stop eating, grab the .410, drop the sucker, put on the permethrin-treated clothes, put the carcass in the wheelbarrow, take it down to the dock.

Nothing like a burial at sea...

No thanks Cellie, I killed hundreds of rats during my graduate school days. I could probably shoot a porcupine a day for the rest of my life and never get close to the number of rats I've killed...

Possibly Eastern Garter juvenile but that's only a guess. Had an adult out east some years back.
