Back yard critters

When I got off the boat early this morning I saw multiple trails in the dew on my grass. I was puzzled since the tracks went close to the house, which is NOT normal for the deer, but the lone fox that does stroll around would have had to made many passes to account for all the trails.

Anyway after 1/2 an hour I looked outside to see the culprits. I could feed an army with all those turkeys!!

What the hell is chirping in the trees all night?
I heard them in Westchester years ago, but they where never here. I tried to google it and everything was for other states, mostly birds and frogs. I don’t think these are either of them?
Anyone know what exactly they are?

Holy Turkey Crap Batman!!

I was greeted by multiple piles this AM. Even though we rarely eat on our deck, the "Turkey Gang" must have checked around the deck last night for scraps. Thank Poseidon that they're firm little pellets, not mushy.

Here is a good cicada story .About 8 or so years ago we the family were camping on the east side of the hudson at Norrie Point state park and the cicadas were sooooo loud all day long it was unbearable had to spend the days elsewhere .Ok now forward one year while fishing on the Esopus river near mt tremper out of nowhere that loud buzzing started and sure as ---- said to my self not those damb bugs again . But it was to isolated and close sure enough bumped into my first catskill Timber Rattlesnake less than ten feet away and rattling up a storm .Naturally being that i love snakes just had to see how much of me it would put up with .One tap of the flyrod tip is all it took for it to slither away this thing was much bigger than i thought they would be Id say over three feet long and as thick as my wrist around.Pretty cool.!
