Crabman
Angler
I'm sure this has been discussed a million times but I didn't find the info I wanted in search. I never really targeted blackfish since most of my fishing was offshore tuna in the fall. I want to get ready for the upcoming season. With all the changes over the past few years, I'm looking for offshore rods and reel setups as well as hook suggestions. I used to use the Virginia-style hook but from what I have been told, there might be better hooks. Loose hooks are fine for me and I would rather snell my own leaders or use dropper loops. As for rods, I was planning to use my Grapplers both conventional and spinning which can handle weights to 4 ounces for inshore fishing out to the inlet. Although I have rods for offshore, they are older rods and heavy. If there's something out there that can be bought off the shelf at Trophy, please suggest ones look at. My reel collection is large both in quantity and size. My smallest is the Saltiga 30T. I have Avets but they are larger than my Saltigas and heavy. Suggestions are appreciated.
