BRAIDED LINE.

It doesn't succumb to UV exposure like mono, BUT it does wear out with constant use. I have to cut off a good 20' every month because I fish lures just about every day. Bait fishers get better mileage...
All the what I call "friction points". Finger on cast in same place, top guide same place, last 15' landing a fish etc.

my usual stress test held up for the last two months, seems some of the line not in use it’s letting go…

after each outing, i rinse the spool with cold water, and even so…

the cost of doing business… ???

this weak braid thing is similar to when i first starting using braid 25 years ago, even though it was brand new line…. cellie…

Every once in a while a bad batch goes through. I recently had an issue with a bunch of braid. Went over every touch point on the rod with q-tips and cotton balls. Even did it again with the rod flexed in case of a small crack of a guide. Did the same all over the reel.

Dumped the braid and started over - from a different spool and shop. I did mention it to the shop as a courtesy to check their equipment just in case.

It happens.

And the same braid from a different spool was just fine and working well.

I have tried every brand of braid I could find. Hands down, Suffix 832. It works for me on everything from fluke to tog to in the northeast to casting and spinning on my freshwater largemouth and peacock setups. Very little wind knots, great knot strength and just an all-around smoother line.

I do think it's like everything else in fishing what some love others hate. That's fishing!

YES SIR… i noticed the fray onto my mono backing, that’s the clue… thanks cellie…
