Well-Known Angler
After returning from a family visit to FL, I raced home this past Tuesday night to run a Montauk Fluke trip on Wed Unfortunately a 15-20 kt West wind forced the postponement of that evert.
So, with the Sea Bass bag limit now at 6pp I decided to try a freezer filler trip yesterday in the eastern Sound. As noted in another post, early morning conditions were pretty snotty and not at all what some forecast models predicted. But I stuck it out until the tide changed, the winds backed off, and did some bouncing around on a few drops to put together my limit catch of biscuits to 3#. Also tried one new drop that looked promising on the Chart plotter and came up with a surprise 19" Fluke,
Hit the Gut on the way home for the last 1.5 hours of the flood and found one short Striper and a few Blues to stretch out the arm muscles. All in all, a nice day once the sea conditions improved.
I still have one opening for the Wed 9/14 Fluke charter mentioned in another post. Give me a call if you want to hop aboard.
