I don't understand the reasoning behind GM either.
Cadillac has been designated their electric car flagship, they've put out some true drivers cars recently (Blackwing, V models)

I can't figure out why they'd do that to the Chevrolet Corvette brand - and compete with themselves at Cadillac.
