Cold Remedies

I got a bad cold. I’m crazy busy at work and have to go to classes for the next few nights for my captains license. Besides pounding water and vitamins.

Any tried and true cold remedies that work for you guys?

you can control the symptoms but it will still take a week or so to go bye bye.....dayquill and nitequill work pretty good....snuggling up with a ample eskimo woman might help if you got one lying around:cool:

I dose with Vitamin C - 1000 MG in the morning - 1000 before I go to bed.

On the rare occasion I actually get sick - this seems to remedy it within 24 to 48 hours.

I take Claredin D 12 hr. I know its a allergy medicine but my doctor told me to take it when having a cold and it keeps it from going into your chest. It has to be the D and 12 hour pill though.

And Chicken Soup

Much better thanks! I’ve been drinking over 1.5 gallons of water a day in conjunction with my meds/vitamins. This cold is on its last legs. Wish I could get more sleep.

I use Cold-Eze. It's the zinc method which I find works well. The trick is you have to start taking them within the first 24 hours. If you do, it cuts the time you have the cold down to 3 or 4 days. Used them twice this winter and they worked like a charm.

I find Cold-Eze is a bit pricey. Vit C and Zinc much less expensive and a lot more pills.

60 Oz of H2O is good for a healthy person but add a fever and a cold and the 1.5 gal is good.

12 hours yes.

Feverish, diarrhea, vomiting 1.5 gal in 24 hours perfectly OK if you can actually drink that much. It's not like he will be doing it everyday for weeks or months. Then 1.5 gal is excessive. But when sick if you can physically drink that much perfectly OK. So I'm not wrong you are.

You say way too much water for any person in any condition. Well lets debunk that right now. A marathon runner in 80 degree heat. 1.5 gal no problem.

An athlete in oh lets say ANY sport in the summer 1.5 gal no problem. Someone working in their yard in the summer for 8 hours 1.5 gal no problem. Do I need to continue...?
