Pandemic Crowds Bring ‘Rivergeddon’ to Montana’s Rivers

As urbanites flock to forests and rivers to escape coronavirus threats, trailheads are cramped with parked cars and fishing on the Madison River is like a Disneyland ride.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Madison River rushes down out of the snows and springs atop the Yellowstone plateau, a dark blue, rock-studded, world-class fishing stream.

The fishing season is nearly finished, but a season of discontent continues. Throughout the summer and fall, there have been traffic jams on the river, and the number of large fish has declined.

“You’re in a flotilla with five boats in front of you and five in back of you,” said Carl Hamming, a board member of a local chapter of Trout Unlimited, which wants to limit commercial guides on the river. “It seems like everyone was flocking to Montana this summer,” he said.

Some say floating the jammed river feels like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland; a writer in a Montana wilderness journal recently coined another name for it: “Rivergeddon.”

We have a County hiking park/nature reserve here by Kensico reservoir, cars are all over the place. They park a quarter mile away in the fishing areas on Rte 22 to take their families hiking - it is getting really annoying, especially on the nice days.

To top it off now they are filming the TV show Manifest there, it's outta control. :(

It’s unimaginable to think what she and other healthcare workers see on a daily basis

If you’ve seen the “How it started, How it’s going” pictures floating around social media, you know some of them can be pretty funny given all we’ve dealt with in 2020. While many give us the much-needed levity we’re looking for, one Nashville area nurse chose to share hers as a reminder to everyone what our healthcare workers are dealing with on a daily basis.
Kathryn took to Twitter over the weekend to share the before-and-after picture of how she started the year and now, after seeing hundreds of patients sick and dying from COVID-19. Though she says, “caring for the sickest of the sick is an honor,” she also wants to send a very clear message to those still not taking this pandemic seriously.

Kathryn tells Scary Mommy if people could remember one thing, this would be it: “Healthcare workers aren’t the frontline, we’re the last line.”

She also said how critical it is for all of us to be doing our part to keep ourselves and are loved ones out of the hospitals right now. “There isn’t any cavalry coming to relieve us or take our place if we fall, and things are only going to get worse,” she says. “We will do everything we can for as long as we can to help as many as we can, but the public has to do their part to limit the spread of covid or the healthcare system and the people who work in healthcare will collapse under the weight of it.”

Although the science behind the virus on packaging remains unclear, that has not stopped Beijing from unleashing a sophisticated propaganda campaign to continue pushing its narrative. They argue the coronavirus did not start in Wuhan, but rather originated in the West and exploded when it reached China.

Advancing the line that the virus originated abroad – stoking nationalist pride and anti-foreign sentiment – has allowed Chinese authorities to deflect public anger over its coverup of the pandemic.

“All available evidence suggests that the coronavirus, which has infected more than 59 million people in 190 countries, did not start in central China’s Wuhan,” Chinese state media has proclaimed.

Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist of China’s centre for disease control and prevention, also said recently the pathogen could have entered China through imported frozen seafood or meat products and their packaging.

guy on tv saying we need at least 75% of people to take the vaccine and we should tie a 1500.00 stimulus to taking it since some people won't take it.....so people are totally out of their minds IMHO....We have to pay them....this and other things are why we are not a FREE people and have to have the government direct our lives and make laws etc. We are in all actuality a very STUPID people as a whole i.e. the current mis-information campaign on the election.....how the hell have homo sapiens survived this long?

  • Chartered United Airlines flights from Brussels to Chicago are carrying Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, according to The Wall Street Journal.
  • The flights represent one leg of a chain, which will extend from Chicago to distribution hubs around the US.
  • Pfizer's vaccine must be stored in -103 degrees Fahrenheit, so the flights reportedly have special FAA approval to carry 15,000 pounds of dry ice.

As drugmaker Pfizer seeks regulatory approval for its COVID-19 vaccine, shipments have already begun making their way to distribution centers via United Airlines charters, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved the shipments, which require the vaccine candidate to be packed in dry ice, according to CNN.

"As a result of the historic pace of vaccine development through Operation Warp Speed and careful logistics planning, the FAA today is supporting the first mass air shipment of a vaccine," the agency said in a statement Friday.

The chartered flights, which began Friday, were reportedly between Brussels and Chicago, the WSJ said. They represent one leg of a chain, which will extend from Chicago to distribution hubs around the US.

Easier to buy online much of what Macys sells. (For that matter, same goes for Lowes and HD, but hardware guys and their better halves are a touchy feely kind.)

I can see point

I just find it odd the things ppl will do and not do in the name or for the appearance of safety or compliance

I find most of it strange at best
