Coronavirus

This is why you don't deviate from the clinical protocol that any pharmaceutical/treatment was used for approval. The protocols are set up to answer very specific questions, and don't offer speculative "What Ifs".

Andie Cuomo just announced it will take seven months to vaccinate the present Phase 1B based on current projections. Based on so many people having their appointments cancelled because vaccines were never distributed properly or "somehow" stock ran out before the last people scheduled that day received a vaccination, I think August September timeframe to just get through Phase 1, forget about those under age 65, is a pipedream. Will the Astra Zeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines yet to be approved "for emergency use" alleviate the logjam ?

The first link is to a video from Johns Hopkins about how mRNA works in cells and the immune system's response, and the second link is a video from ABC News explaining how vaccines work in the body.

Video: How COVID-19 vaccines work

Just keep in mind that the ONLY the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines use the mRNA technology. The J&J and AstraZeneca vaccines differ in that they actually use a DNA adenovirus, yes they're going to injecting a virus, an ATTENUATED virus, into the recipients.

Once injected, the treated adenovirus goes into a cell gets into the cell's nucleus to insert the DNA signal to make the COVID spike protein into host cell DNA. Then the the host cell transcribe the spike protein info into the cell's mRNA for protein synthesis out in the ribosomes.

The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines "eliminate the middleman" of the host cell nuclear steps by providing the mRNA for the cell's ribosomes to immediately start the synthesis of COVID spike protein so the immune system can kick in.

good point. anyone got any tips as to how to get this 69 year old his first vaccine ? on Lawnguyland...

Hmmmm
Silly me
I had no clue whatsoever that the state of NY had their own factory to produce enough doses to go around.

Where I work we have an unwritten policy of no complaining without providing a viable solution to correct something

So tell me, what exactly can NIY do to to increase production at their factory so all the peeps in NY that want a dose can get one??
