Coronavirus

Good ole' ZedgeHedge!

Never lets truth get in the way of a good story!

LOL (not). I guess the video from the Australian Government Official, who clearly states people with positive cases along with 38 close contacts (so far) are being transported by the ADF (Army) to quarantine camps, is...... false????

Very easy for a temporary hospital to be labeled an encampment. Zedge Hedge would have labelled the Javits center as an "encampment"!

When large numbers of people need to be treated for a highly infectious virus, isolation is the proper course....probably the only course!

So paranoid you can't see through the B's......

by that logic....if an outbreak occurs in say, Bensonhurst or Astoria...etc....on top of 'house arrest' you're OK with the government forcibly removing the population, against their will, regardless of being sick or otherwise, to pop up camps? Gotcha. Glad we have that out of the way. I recall a certain time in history when this was also done. Didn't end well.

Maybe my reading comprehension gets an f but i think he was supporting segregating the sick, not everyone. I got the measles at fort sill but only I of a class of 70 was quarantined. Even the army didn’t throw the others in solitary lol.

Only positive cases were relocated. Stop with the overly dramatic scenarios!

It's about protecting the healthy........ VACCINATED...... population.

Wrong again. 38 other people who were in close contact with the sick were also relocated. Those 38 may or may not be sick, have symptoms, tested positive or negative or anything else. Reading comprehension boys.....

Give me the f. I didn’t bother to even read the hedge edge thing and thought the posts were just hypotheticals. Regardless i could be in favor of quarantining a large group IF all were sick or testing positive, and just monitor the others.

Ok. So you're paranoid about testing positive and getting hauled off somewhere........is that it?

Well, be happy you don't live in Australia.

BTW, many are on their 3rd dose of vaccine and life is almost normal!

God bless America!!

Happy Holidays ?

Math wasn't your strong suit, was it? Even IF your claim of 10s of thousands of deaths that could be DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTED to the COVID vaccines, which is totally inane and untrue, do you know what the percentage of that would be???

Let's do the math and go with 20,000 vaccine-related deaths, have your calculator handy...

To date 450 million vaccinations have been administered in the US, so 20,000 deaths out of 450,000,000 is 0.0044%.

If that percentage bothers you then fine. I doubt you'll find any other vaccine that will be much better. I know I have no problem banking on a 99.9956% chance of surviving a treatment that will ensure I'll stay on this side of the sod...
Yes let’s. So as to keep you on your toes you can look it up. In 2020, CDC reported 377,883 peeps died from Covid. Presently 770,000 is being reported. That’s roughly 15,000 more with a month to go then before the vaccination was available. So ah yeah that percentage should bother everyone.

Absolutely! The US is nowhere near the real number needed for herd immunity, > 90%, a number that no public health official wants to fess up to. That's why I keep rolling up my sleeve for the vaccine du jour, masking and avoiding crowded spaces. Don't forget to take into account the Delta Variant and the dropping of many mandates, which both came "on-line" late spring, along with the good 30% of the US population that refuses to vaccinate, a number that will come down in the future either by folks getting their minds right, OR the Darwinian option...

Delta - far more infectious and generates a higher viral load so it's tougher to recover from, and easier to infect others.

Mandates eased, sporting events, theaters, bars, restaurants, etc. opened.

And here's a graphic to that show the vaccine starting to work, but Maine's decision to end some of the strictest COVID restrictions in the Northeast wasn't a great epidemiological idea.

Maine currently in it's worse surge of hospitalizations and fatalities of the pandemic, with just over 70% vaccination. The state weathered the first waves very well, but most restrictions, and "volunteer masking if you've been vaccinated" (Amazing, but if one looks at masks, we've got almost 100% vaccination if you look at folks walking into a bar) were lifted July 1 and then the chit hit the fan. Mandate easing was an economic decision, and probably necessary to keep any shred of an economy in position. Regrettably, folks, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, took that as meaning life was back to normal, which it isn't.

Hospitalizations are 90% unvaccinated patients. Don't dwell on the current flat ICU patients as a "good' thing. The limited numbers of ICU beds are now maxed out, not a good thing...

The more people get vaccinated, the more relaxed restrictions become.
The fewer the restrictions, the more vulnerable the unvaxed become.

Don't need any degree to figure that one out!

450+ million guinea pigs have shown that the vaccine works.

My 48 year old M.D. allergist who was waiting for his wife to decide on their getting vaccinations and got sick himself in May from the virus has never fully recovered and announced his "retirement" this week to his patients. He was hospitalized for a couple of weeks, needed an IV at home for a couple more. Not sure how he will weather the financial storm but he made his decision in the spring, or let his wife make it for them.
