No kidding. Waited an hour this morning for a CityMD to open. At least we were near the front of the line. When they opened the doors the line was all the way around the building and back to the entrance plus some. By the time we were tested and out an hour and a half later they were booked out 'til 3:00 for testing. Scary.

The ones I saw this morning had lines that extended into the parking lot.

It's standard procedure to test anyone admitted to a hospital.

If you feel sick, stay home. Keep track of your temperature and O2 level (if you have a pulse oximeter). Same as it's been.......

In many cases, the reason for all the testing and lines is those that can afford it are traveling and its a requirement. After seeing NO ONE without a mask at Shop Rite and King Kullen this morning, there were two middle aged white guys without masks at the Stop and Shop in Amityville. Just love grocery shopping we do. Everyone at Dicks, Smithhaven Mall was masked.

Some venues require either a vaccination card or proof of a negative test. (I think some are now requiring both as I know that Viking is.)

It’s mandatory for your employer to pay you a ten day vacation in NY if you test positive but you need paperwork.

Judging by the lack of response from this administration, I anticipate some shortages once again this winter especially with the OTC meds.

I always keep a supply of Deslym cough syrup, Tylenol, Zinc and Vick's vapor rub in the pantry.

These are things I normally buy to get through the winter but everyone has their preference.

I would add Mucinex to the list. Blue pill in the day and yellow at night, as needed. At least for me, keeps the chest "loose".

That's nothing more then guaifenesin (that's your expectorant) Unless you get the DM, (Dextromethorphan) is a suppressment. You can buy the generic versions of them. But why take a medicine that's combined to almost cancel each other out? I usually stick with plan guaifenesin syrup and follow it with a glass of water.

Even when I got the wife's cold which went into a chest cold/bronchitis I saw no need for getting tested. Never had a fever, never lost sense of taste or smell. Just this stinkin' chest congestion. Not a doctor, haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in a few years, but never suspected the china virus and knew that they would test me if I went to see a doc anyway.
Would be different if I needed the test to travel. Do the various venues accept a self-test. I don't see why they should. That would be akin to handing in my own self-taken fingerprint card for a background check !

Tested positive today on the Rapid Antigen.
Basic nasal stuffiness and a mild headache started yesterday afternoon. I actually felt the same way 2 Sundays ago but kicked it with Sinex and Jack D.

Anyway, out of caution for my daughter and family over the holidays, and since I very rarely get sick for 24 hours or more, I took the test.

Had to get my daughter at school per guidelines, under 10 day quarantine both of us now. She has no symptoms so far. We are separating in the house, and she cant go to my ex's since she is already exposed to me.

Sister is still flying in from AZ, will stay with my mom..... Have to rearrange some of the food I ordered for Eve, and Day.

Symptoms so far:
Dizzy stuffy head, slight fever this afternoon 99.8, very dry cough, and a little pain under my right breast when I cough hard. Had a few slight chills but on and off when I was outside today.

The regime so far is massive nasal flushes with Sinex, down the nasal into the throat and out the mouth. Gargal with Listerine. Advil cold and sinus and Dayquil + Nyquil later. Hopefully kick this in a few days!
