Coronavirus

whatever the hell it was I haven't had a sniffle all month while they are dropping like flies all around me

Shingle shot..not yet..my bro inlaw was tortured with shingles for months. I never had chicky pox...all i remember getting was german measles in 3rd grade on Easter break which I was pissed about

My guess is that a week from now the US will have 5 to 6 million infections of everything from the virus, to RSV, to good old common flu. Its the severity of the infections that matters.

Guess they got tired of the more jabs too?
Not at all, they gambled on a attenuated virus vaccine and it was a bust, especially when dealing with variants. They actually tried to hack Moderna and Pfizer data systems to make their own mRNA vaccine, but that was thwarted.

The inability to make an effective vaccine probably forced them to their program of extensive lockdowns and testing. Eventually those policies crapped on their economy, and the riots started, so they did a 180, and opened things up. Now they're on the cusp of a major outbreak which they'll shield from the rest of the world, as they've decided to not report daily new infection numbers, to save face. They're now in damage control mode, trying to cover there posteriors. They've fumbled the ball on multiple fronts, the vaccine, the Zero Tolerance Lockdown, and now the inevitable failure of opening things up.

Problem is that with a runaway, rampant infection of large numbers that we can anticipated, we'll probably be seeing some new variants originating there...

That is a very good question...

For what it's worth, figuring out what mRNA sequences to use is something a 1st year Graduate Student can easily do. The challenge, and very expensive steps, of figuring out how to formulate the vaccine is where the challenges lie.

This exercise of figuring out the "Magic Secret Ingredients" to ensure uptake of the the mRNA into cells that will be able to produce large amounts of the viral protein fragments to stimulate the immune system, and to keep all the components of a vaccine stable, is where the syringe meets the skin...

Seems like it wold be the smart thing to do........ But it wont happen I wonder why
It might have $something to do with the $tock price and the keeping the $hareholder$ happy...

You can't lose site of the fact that the "Special Sauce" for a vast array of mRNA vaccines, now and future, will remain pretty constant. So if they were to divulge the info for the COVID vaccines, they've told everyone how to make any mRNA vaccine.

I won't comment on the morality of the decision...

Yeah, like the chicoms have given us so much. A thousand student spies at Stony Brook, several hundred thousand elsewhere. Tens of thousand US casualties in Korea. Appliances that break a few months after warranty. Toys saturated with chemicals. Daily threats against our military. Thousands of spies in our defense contractors. And then there is SARS and the present virus. They have given us so much.

Yes but our shots can save the world
