Coronavirus

Just sayin'. The unintended consequences of saving the planet from plastic bags. Clean bags? Pfffft. Who goes out of business, and who gets laid off? Pfffft. Mere collateral damage in the fight to save the world, right?

Kind of like the Maine lobster thing Roccus posted about. I mean, there's no nobler cause than saving the whales, is there? It has to be true, I've seen it on bumper stickers.
Oh I got ya ? ?

R - I was a Purchasing Director for 20 + years - I am well aware of that term. It also means/requires that the manufacturer keep X amount in their inventory (above & beyond what is normally ordered) at all times so they can be brought in quickly if needed. It's known as a Reserve Stock.

True enough, but as a Purchasing Direct wouldn't you agree with all the current and impending bans for plastic bags (isn't NY going to ban them/has banned them too?) the MFGs probably reset the Reserve Stock numbers down? Now that places have temporarily "unbanned" the bags, the reserve stocks are inadequate to handle this significant, short-term increased need.

* The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (RNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code. (mutation) and convert them into aggressor and multiplier cells.

* Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed, but decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.

* The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam CUTS the FAT (that is why you have to rub so much: for 20 seconds or more, to make a lot of foam).
By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own.

* HEAT melts fat; this is why it is so good to use water above 25 degrees Celsius for washing hands, clothes and everything. In addition, hot water makes more foam and that makes it even more useful.

* Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ANY FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.

* Any mix with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein, breaks it down from the inside.

* Oxygenated water helps long after soap, alcohol and chlorine, because peroxide dissolves the virus protein, but you have to use it pure and it hurts your skin.

* NO BACTERICIDE OR ANTIBIOTIC SERVES. The virus is not a living organism like bacteria; antibodies cannot kill what is not alive.

* NEVER shake used or unused clothing, sheets or cloth. While it is glued to a porous surface, it is very inert and disintegrates only
-between 3 hours (fabric and porous),
-4 hours (copper and wood)
-24 hours (cardboard),
- 42 hours (metal) and
-72 hours (plastic).
But if you shake it or use a feather duster, the virus molecules float in the air for up to 3 hours, and can lodge in your nose.

* The virus molecules remain very stable in external cold, or artificial as air conditioners in houses and cars.

They also need moisture to stay stable, and especially darkness. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade it faster.

* UV LIGHT on any object that may contain it breaks down the virus protein. For example, to disinfect and reuse a mask is perfect. Be careful, it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin.

* The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.

* Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.

* NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA, serve. The strongest vodka is 40% alcohol, and you need 65%.

* LISTERINE IF IT SERVES! It is 65% alcohol.

* The more confined the space, the more concentration of the virus there can be. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.

* You have to wash your hands before and after touching mucosa, food, locks, knobs, switches, remote control, cell phone, watches, computers, desks, TV, etc. And when using the bathroom.

* You have to MOISTURIZE HANDS DRY from so much washing them, because the molecules can hide in the micro cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better.

* Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there.

So then why is the news talking so much about the presence of antibodies as being so important to protect people from being re-infected?

anti-bodies make your immune system more resistant and able to fight the virus is what I think.

Talk to my partner at work yesterday ...his nephew died yesterday and 8 people in his church. Many in his community are medical pros including his wife. He said to drink HOT fluids and take B COMPLEX. He also mentioned tumeric. Just throwing it out there, as these are not harmful even if they don't do anything.

Great summary Cell, and the first point is the endless enigma for bioscientists, having been debated over more "beverages" than probably any other biological point. I've always defended the "It's not a life form" against those feeling it is life, and have damaged many liver and brain cells in defending this position.

So then why is the news talking so much about the presence of antibodies as being so important to protect people from being re-infected?

Our bodies' immune system is designed to detect foreign bodies and marshal tools to fight this infection and are found in you blood Antibodies are one of the main weapons in this battle, with the 1, 2 punch being IgM and IgG. The antibodies will bind to specific parts on proteins of the invading body.

Here's a simplified diagram of how an antibody works:

I said IgM and IgG are the "1, 2 Punch" that's because first you develop IgM and then IgG. IgG is a much longer lasting antibody. When you're fighting an infection, you'll have both, but IgM will start falling off soon after you've resolved, maybe even just before. This picture shows the timeline for antibody development in response to a Parvovirus. I also want to highlight the "Viremia" curve. The current test for COVID-19 is a Nucleic Acid Test and only shows a positive result when there is virus in your air waves (Nasal Swabs). It does NOT tell you about your antibody state. So when you have high antibody levels, no longer have symptoms and have no detectable virus, you're "cured" and for some period of time, most likely a few months at a minimum, you can successfully fight off another infection.

More out of curiosity than any basis in fact or science, because I have none of that

But if this is a weak virus wrapped in lipid fat
Wouldn’t a keto like diet where the body is utilizing fat as fuel have an effect
Coupled with exercise and even a modified fast

Couldnt the body just eat the fat layer leaving the virus with no protection

No it doesnt work like that. The virus would not be the first place your body looks for fat. There are stores in your body for that. The virus would not even be recognized as a place your body can get fat from.

My head is spinning ...............what happened to the plastic bags ?

o_O

I have no freakin' idea...........................

All I mentioned was there seems to be a plastic bag shortage - not even complaining mind you because I always ask for paper anyway as mentioned - & found it astounding. Then some decided to turn this into a whole brouhaha & debate about it.

.....and my head was spinning just from plastic bags, now I'm just plain dizzy trying to read this :
