Coronavirus

on my up to Maryland today I passed one of those self-storage places - sign out front read:
Don't know what to do with all that toilet paper?
Store it here!

that got me laughing........

Saturday April 25th was one of first warm days on a weekend if I remember. Open stores were crowded & the traffic on the north & south forks was pretty heavy. I know the wife & I took a ride to walk a local beach, & their were so may people we never got out of the car. For 2 days this week the number people admitted to Suffolk county hospitals was up for the first time in almost 2 weeks. Yesterday deaths in Suffolk county spiked by over 200 to 227. Coincidence?
John

I’ll give you admissions could be up because ppl got out on a nice day after two weeks

but that’s going to happen as ppl get out and about

I don’t think your going to have ppl out and about without a rise in numbers
Just going to be a fact of existing for the time being

I'm watching 18 and 19 year olds getting killed on South Pacific islands while serving their country.
The only way the U.S. would win a WW3 is by technology.

WW3 is going to be fought with missiles - potentially ending up closing in a mushroom cloud

I was thinking while watching the Smithsonian Channel...about how selfless those kids were.
It's all very different now - and not in a good way.

A statement, usually mis-quoted as being by Albert Einstein, speaking after the atomic bombing of Japan, answers the question about what types of weapons would be used in World War III. Supposedly the answer was, "I have no idea of what type of weapons that would be used in World War III, but I know that World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

they certainly were - I'm always amazed when I see something like Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers how they just simply charged into the face of death & kept going....

To be honest. I don't know that I would be able to.

Yeah you could and would. You do it for the guy to your left and for the guy to your right.

And it may be a valid concern
it may actually be a valid fear

but the thing about fears and concerns is the way you overcome them

it may hell I’d bet it will flair back up
We still need to face it and deal with that reality
We can’t allow our concerns over this one thing eclipse the fact that we can’t continue like this for long or over and over again

of all the facts that one can’t be disputed
No one at any level ,in no qtr thinks what we are doing is sustainable for very much longer or can ever be done again on this scale
