ARENT Vaccines supposed too protect you from the illness? AKA being vaccinated like the common tetnis shot or the Polio vaccine we all received as kids? Seems to me its not a vaccine but a means to help the effects kinds like an aspirin for aches/pains

It prevents you from ending up in the hospital & possibly dying. It boosts the body's defense in fighting it off. Which is basically what all vaccines do including the ones you got as a kid.

you're taking the word prevented & treating it like some sort of force field - it "prevents" the polio virus the same way the COVID vaccine "prevents" COVID - by creating antibodies once the virus enters the body

At least one of you can definitely vouch for my following sentence. I truly do not give a rat's ass as to who catches the virus and who doesn't. All of our family and closest friends have been vaccinated. We can go to virtually any venue we want to or need to without showing some phony card, and usually without some useless mask, and definitely with no worries that we might get seriously ill from the virus. Have a pleasant night all.
