Coronavirus

just found out about two more people dying from it who were otherwise healthy. don't give two shits about those "percentages" if its you or a loved one and I can reduce the odds by masking and vaxxing. Last ten plus years of retirement have been great and I simply want more. Also have direct knowledge of a couple of "long haulers." Both refused the vax. One is now an amputee and the other can no longer go for a jog. No thanks.

If I believed for even a second that mask worked, and could be utilized properly
If I thought for a second the vaccine worked ( ps I did for the briefest of seconds when it 1st came out) and I’m still not anti vax just anti mandate

I’d be in
I didn’t believe in the beginning in mask and still don’t today
They aren’t meant for this
They don’t work for this and they aren’t used properly if they were

on the plane yesterday I was told to put it on and off between sips
What a crock of shit

I told the stewardess to piss off and please go get her supervisor , and told that person that was out of bounds, and in fact counter productive
Wasn’t asked again
Call bullshit when you see bullshit

On 12/18 i was exposed to covid...tested the next day (too soon I know) and was negative. Tested again 12/22 due to a minor sore throat and JACKPOT!!! 6 PAID DAYS OFF and only two days of minor sore throat!!! VAXXED AND BOOSTED....no way to tell what would have happened if I wasn't but based on some unvaxxed people I know who had it rough I'm glad I took it.

Singer Neil Young has demanded that his music be removed from Spotify over concerns that the platform’s most popular podcaster, Joe Rogan, is spreading vaccine misinformation, Rolling Stone magazine reported.

“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform. They can have Rogan or Young. Not both,” he wrote in a letter to his record company and management team, according to the magazine.

“I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them,” he added.

Earlier this month 270 scientists and medical professionals issued an open letter to Spotify, urging the streaming giant to establish a misinformation policy after an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience promoted what they said were “baseless conspiracy theories” about the pandemic.

The Dec. 31 program featured Robert Malone, a doctor who has called himself the “inventor” of mRNA vaccines, the type that serves as the basis for the covid-19 vaccine. Malone was banned from Twitter for circulating anti-vaccine misinformation. YouTube deleted a recording of the Rogan podcast shortly after it was uploaded to the website by a third party.

Since the start of the pandemic, Spotify has removed 20,000 podcast episodes containing covid misinformation. The company has deleted more than 40 episodes of Rogan’s podcast – which has an estimated 11 million listeners – to date.

Remember Sweet Home Alabama?

Well I heard Mister Young sing about her
Well I heard ol' Neil put her down
Well I hope Neil Young will remember
A southern man don't need him around anyhow… and neither does this guy.

  • The relatively mild nature of Omicron combined with how rapidly it spreads has lead many to believe it could soon burn out and become endemic

Something for those here that profess to be religious RC's to consider when they share scientifically incorrect...

Covid Updates: Pope Warns Against ‘Infodemic’

The Catholic leader is urging journalists, scientists and others to build bridges with those who believe misinformation. The world has topped 10 billion vaccine doses but distribution has been unequal.

Information based on scientific facts is a human right, Pope Francis said Friday, urging Catholic journalists to help people who were misled by false reports about the coronavirus and vaccines.

“To be properly informed, to be helped to understand situations based on scientific data and not fake news, is a human right,” the pope told members of the International Catholic Media Consortium on Covid-19 Vaccines.

An “infodemic” was spreading, the pope said, calling it “a distortion of reality based on fear, falsified or invented news.”

Journalists and scientists, he added, should treat those who believe in false information with respect and not place them in “ghettos.” Instead, they should try to build bridges to those who need to hear scientific truths.

The pope cited a 1972 message by Pope Paul VI about the sway that the news media had over people’s behaviors and choices, and lauded those who could properly place individual facts in a broader picture by explaining the causes and circumstances of a given situation.

He praised the Catholic consortium of media organizations, fact-checking websites and scientists for combating inaccurate information on vaccines, particularly online.

The pope has been vocal about the importance of vaccines. Last year, he participated in a global ad campaign and called getting vaccinated an “act of love.”

He has also periodically reiterated the importance of the equitable distribution of vaccines around the globe, lamenting the scarcity of health care resources in poor countries.

Speaking to diplomats earlier this month, Francis stressed the importance of “the effort to immunize the general population as much as possible.” He also lamented the “strong ideological divides” facing the world.

“Frequently people let themselves be influenced by the ideology of the moment, often bolstered by baseless information or poorly documented facts,” he told the diplomats.

this particular popes an ultra liberal tool and driven by ultra liberal ideas and ideals , it drips from him .

That said
When you find some real good hard facts
Let us know
So far 95 percent of what you and those that think as you do are let’s say
Less than fact
Fact is irrefutable , gravity is a fact
Nothing in this supposed covid science is fact
It’s all little more than scientific theory
yet to be proven or disproven

popes statement is pure hogwash
No matter what if any religion you follow

here’s a fact
It snowed , I have to shovel and it’s too damn cold

Joni Mitchell Plans to Follow Neil Young Off Spotify, Citing ‘Lies’

“Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives,” she wrote after the site was accused of spreading vaccine misinformation.

Joni Mitchell said Friday that she would remove her music from Spotify, joining Neil Young in his protest against the streaming service over its role in giving a platform to Covid-19 vaccine misinformation.

Mitchell, an esteemed singer-songwriter of songs like “Big Yellow Taxi,” and whose landmark album “Blue” just had its 50th anniversary, posted a brief statement on her website Friday saying that she would remove her music from the streaming service. “Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives,” she wrote. “I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue.”

Her statement adds fuel to a small but growing revolt over Spotify, with few major artists speaking out but fans commenting widely on social media. The debate has also brought into relief questions about how much power artists wield to control distribution of their work, and the perennially thorny issue of free speech online.

Spotify took Young’s music down on Wednesday, two days after he posted an open letter calling for its removal as a protest against “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Spotify’s most popular podcast, which has been criticized for spreading misinformation about the coronavirus and vaccines.

He did so after a group of hundreds of scientists, professors and public health experts had asked Spotify to take down an episode of Rogan’s show from Dec. 31 that had featured Dr. Robert Malone, an infectious-disease expert. The scientists wrote in a public letter that the program promoted “several falsehoods about Covid-19 vaccines.”

Mitchell is the first major artist to follow Young, after a couple of days of speculation and rumors on social media.

Young and Mitchell have a deep history together. Both are Canadians who helped lead the singer-songwriter revolution in Southern California in the late 1960s and 1970s.

On Spotify, Mitchell is listed as having 3.7 million monthly listeners, with two of her songs — “Big Yellow Taxi” and “A Case of You” — getting over 100 million streams.

While few other major artists have spoken out so far, Young’s stance has resonated widely with fans. Twitter was dotted with the announcements of listeners saying they were canceling their subscriptions, and screenshots from Spotify’s app showed a message from its customer support team saying that it was “getting a lot of contacts so may be slow to respond.” Spotify has not said how many customers canceled their subscriptions.

Tech rivals have also pounced on the controversy, with SiriusXM restarting a Neil Young channel and Apple Music calling itself “the home of Neil Young.”

In a statement on his website on Friday, Young reiterated his objections to Rogan’s podcast and took a swipe at Spotify’s sound quality. He also said he supported free speech.

“I support free speech. I have never been in favor of censorship,” it said. “Private companies have the right to choose what they profit from, just as I can choose not to have my music support a platform that disseminates harmful information.”

Just a FYI Joe Rogan has more listeners then CNN has viewers and going by leftist rules, that makes everything he says factual.
Spotify is anti-woke, always has been.

ROTFLMAO, the "Deflection Squad" at work...

  1. @CELLFISH, yes Neil Young has a squeaky voice. What that has to do with him pulling his songs off Spotify? BTW, did you see what the Pope said?

  2. @Rick67, when does viewership or followers validate the veracity of what's presented?
