I was referring to Tony's description where he used the word game. To me I believe he was referring to the fact that NY was already deep into the pandemic before they started testing. The data about number of cases came after the virus was already established in NY. It wasn't that it was allowed to run wild, its just that purposeful interdictions were established after it was already running wild. That is my opinion based on what has occurred. Again, I am not trying to state facts, just my conclusions based on what has occured.

You use a couple statistical numbers without any factual data to represent your claims. Basically your posts are only your opinion and clearly you are the minority. If you want to say things like "a large percentage of ppl not...." show us the data. Till then I'm guessing you live near the same deniers as yourself and its not indicative of the general population. But believe what you will.

Maybe because it started in NY and we really didn't have the knowledge to treat people it was more trial and error. Now that the other states are seeing increases in cases we can treat them more effectively. Does that work for you?
 
Can anyone tell me what this effective treatment breakthrough is? Other states are seeing more cases but they're not dying.
Unfortunately NYS decided that a nursing home patient that died in a hospital does not count towards the nursing home Covid death total - so we'll never know truly the cost of the trial and error approach.

My oldest daughter who lives in Syracuse had a dentist appointment. Because they were limiting how many people could be in the office, She had to wait outside in the hot sun for 20 minutes until someone could get to her to take her temperature. When they finally got to her, her forehead temp was 104.1 and what did they do? They told her, "OK, come on in, you're fine." So what's the point of all this?

No not really,not with numbers like that,we would all be aware of a treatment that lowered the death rate that much don't you think? I am hopeing the virus is becoming less lethal.
 
Nobody is denying the virus

what’s being questioned is the viability of the
“ precautions”

here’s a few facts
Places that had very very high numbers like ny
Don’t seam to be experiencing a new surge regardless of ppl actually following protical.

while places that “ flattened it” or kept it in check are
Now experiencing surges , case in point florida
and California

fact is the death rates much much lower than any predictions

so what the hell are we doing but spinning our wheels

I never said cure all treatment to eliminate it. We are treating it more effectively
How about remdesivir, and dexamethasone. We were not giving those in the beginning. I can't remember the drug name that trump was pushing it was used and not very effective. There was another one before that but I can't recall that one either. But it didn't seem to help. Or how about now we are putting people into comas when they can still handle the intubation process with a better outcome. Will that work?

If you think that we are not treating people with this better now than we were when NY was at the height you need to take your head out of the sand.

The game is just a phrase
In this instance we missed the 1st several inning of the spread
It was already loose running a muck through ny
To turn another phase
We were a day ( many days late) and a dollar short

it was out in front and running we flattened nothing
We accomplished nothing
We locked it in our homes and facilities

the nyc charts bear that out clearly
You just refuse to acknowledge it

there’s no hill of cases tapering off

there’s a mountain of cases
Sharply declining

Now we’re flat
After two months of some following protocols and many many not at all

At this point and are bullshit
Mask are bullshit
and the govt overreach is bullshit

I have a few friends fairly welll conected in local govt

word is the mayors already planning Sharp curtailment of movement to coincide with the November election, based on nothing but politics
Because the numbers by is seeing clearly reflect that isnt necessary

Yes the data are clear, a clear demonstration that interdiction worked for NY in saving life, but regrettably it had major economic repercussions.

With other states loosening the Draconian measures that NY used to shut this puppy down, we're starting to see the error of opening up too early as they start mimicking what we saw in NY March and April. These upturns were preventable, but choices were made not to continue or tighten the measures that could have prevented them in order to open up the economy. Once again, a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario with no easy nor correct answer.

I've never sold the economic impact of these measures short. I know it's ghastly and it all comes down to the topic that NOBODY wants to admit to addressing, "How much is a human life worth?" versus "What percent in economic loss can we afford?"

Obviously families that have lost one or more members will have one opinion, while folks whose small businesses are going belly up will have another. Maybe it's time for folks to consider this topic among all their other important issues when they choose leaders?

I do it’s one of the reasons I will never support a liberal

that doesn’t negate the fact that
Nyc didn’t flatten anything
2 weeks has turned into 4 months and for no good reason
What happened happened and it’s going to happen in every large population area

the reasons it’s going to happen maybe debatable , but it’s going to happen

either because the measures are ineffective
Because they are effective if applied early enough and for long enough and in this country for better or worse this long is proving to be to long
Or because the virus just won’t cooperate and so long as there’s some out there and the measure arnt really 100 percent effective , it’s going to spike up, never forget we got a world wide pandemic that started with one person

I’ve said it from the beginning , they got compliance for a few weeks in the winter without much resistance
Now they are fighting popular opinion in the summer a fight they can’t win
Cuomo said it best , I can’t control 17 million ppl . He was right .

The juice heres not worth the squeeze
