Agree, I was watching them closely also, I see they are very organized and have a total focus on safety.

YUp I saw that seems like an act for the show but its safety too

Is Edgar on the boat, & just not shown on the show. In the past when an emergency repair was needed as sea Edgar was the guy who made it all better. I would think he would be missed as the engineer more than deck boss.
