Yesterday me and my dad went fishing and it was great and it was terrible and disgusting. Great part we did well fishing it was ling and a few keeper sea Bass. I had 10 ling on the diamond jig and a handful of short sea bass safely returned. My dad had alot of ling also and 2 keeper sea bass. We had fish dinner. Now the disgusting and terrible part. 77 people on board. They have 4 boats the pride the princess and the two Laura lee boats. And they overbook the princess. Fares keeping 8 inch seabass. Also the boat got boarded by the Dec. Won't go into detail there to long to type. Can only imagine how that turned out. 10 fares from the pride 20 online bookings for the princess and the rest walk ons. This will be the last time on this boat. Just disgusting and disgraceful

I don’t fish PB’s very often but I think it is 100% on them to make sure undersized fish make it back to the water

You cannot force a fare to return a fish. You can only state the regulations. CB is different as I used to always release short and/or over limit fish before a customer could touch it.

Isn’t the Captain in charge and in control of everything that happens on his boat?
He should be and should be held responsible for same. Post signs at the dock and on board that all size regulations MUST AND WILL be enforced

You can do it Bass and fluke fishing as the mate handles the fish for the most part but with a boat full of fares and smaller fish that are lifted aboard it's near impossible.

Only ??10 //15 got tickets out of 77 fairs ,,,,, bassmaster how do you know there were 77,,,,, I'm shore bassmaster more got fines,,,,,,,,did you follow the Dec around the boat to see how many did get fines and took count ,,,,,,,me dont speak no English,,,,,I'm shore they don't ..,,,,,that's a job for the Ice police ,,,,,,to take them off the boat lock them up and send them back where they came from ,,,,,,,,,, ><)))):>

I go on PB all the time I never got fined once I have been fishing for 50 years I follow regulations closely

Playing devils advocate for a moment…….. In the case of under age people drinking at a bar in NY it seems the bar had has been given legal authority of sorts, perhaps mandated, to enforce the law. Let’s use as an example an underage person shows phony proof and gets served, and then the cops raid the place. I believe the bartender can be arrested, and the bar can lose their liquor license. It appears to me that given those circumstances the bar has done their due diligence, yet they can be penalized.

Perhaps party boats should be held to the same standard?

There's the legal concept of what a "reasonably prudent" person would do.

The reasonably prudent shouldn't have to do kaw enforcement's job.

If they're knowingly serving underaged people that may be an issue. If somebody presents false ID , what standard is there for the reasonably prudent bartender to apply?

Naturally, all of these concepts are ripe for abuse, but we need to consider that old school liberal mantra that better a thousand guilty men go free than one innocent man be imprisoned.

Back in the day I tended bar. It was always an issue about serving underage people who you may have believed were of age. Nothing to do with myself, but I seem to recall some other neighborhood bars temporarily losing their liquor license, and the bartender having to spend the night in the pokey.

I think that some party boats perhaps turn a blind eye to what their fares are doing.
