Do they think we're idiots!

......................................and have been compensated for their silence.
I notice MTB (is always fun when he gets in involved. For the record I've fished with him and he's a fun guy. Very misguided though) found your post funny, but I will soon be proving proof of payments to dozens of environmental organizations. Some of which claim to care about whales yet have been absent as this unprecedented slaughter is unfolding before or eyes.

The more you look, the worst it gets.

Who? Anyway.

That is why I posted that comment. Truth hurts the agenda.

I just figured it was drink time, based on what I have learned.

PROOF!!!!! Now we are getting somewhere!!! PROOF is what prevents being "very misguided" something I am the furthest thing from around here. 8-) Yes I do find it ludicrous that people are being paid off as was posted. They just are not smart enough to do that and keep it quiet. Any proof of payments you provide should be directly related to a cover up and not a donation to an environmental group. To this day scientists point elsewhere than the windmills. I will gladly jump on the anti windmill bandwagon if proven they are the major cause. WHY IS THAT?? Because I am not mis-guided but guided by the facts!!! p.s. I enjoyed fishing and chatting with you also, we have more in common than not. :) CHEERS!!!

This entire situation fails to evoke any sense of humor within me. Having dedicated over 35 years of my life to fisheries issues, I can confidently state that this is the most sorrowful event I have ever witnessed. The act of killing whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals due to the presence of wind power installations is deeply disheartening. The installation of 3000 wind turbines, towering as high as the Eiffel Tower, may very well lead to disruptive changes in ocean currents. Numerous reports have surfaced, documenting the alarming number of bird fatalities, including endangered eagles, caused by these turbines. Even more distressing is the approval granted by NOAA to take the lives of thousands of marine mammals. This has marked the demise of the North Atlantic right whales, an irreplaceable loss. Vast stretches of ocean, previously used for recreational and commercial fisheries, have been claimed, while countless marinas and beautiful access points have been overtaken for staging purposes. The serene solitude of the sea has been shattered as we navigate through this perplexing maze of windmills. Moreover, traditional fishing grounds have become off-limits for commercial fishermen, depriving them of their livelihoods. I consider all these reasons, among many others, as a testament to the lack of humor in this situation. With all sincerity, I firmly believe that this experiment will be remembered as a disastrous undertaking.

The same can be said of the over 200 off shore oil rigs, 100s of tankers (VALDEZ) and numerous pipelines, refineries etc. that have done, and continue to do, severe negative impact on the environment. How many up and running offshore windmills do we have?

75% of the planet is water...a couple of windmills are a problem? maybe

20,000 birds per year killed by planes annually in the USA alone

Thousands of marine Mammals killed annually by nets, ships, pollution (plastics!!)

YES...We are and have been for a long long time on a crash course with environmental disaster...it's what MAN does!!

English fishermen who sailed to Newfoundland in the 1600s described the shoals of Grand Banks cod as being “so thick by the shore that we hardly have been able to row a boat through them (2).”

With nothing more than drop lines (no fluorocarbon :) ) and sail power the destruction began

the concern about environmental impact is shared, but the subject "chosen" and the leanings of the supporters here on NYA who give you all those thumbs up leads me to seriously doubt their(not yours) real motive is concern for the environment.

Everything is related to wealth....if we can make money off it...consequences be damned, not only environmental consequences but even severe negative consequences to our own being (never mind fish). Otherwise why do we sell alcohol, tobacco, drugs, plastics, and maybe even vaccines to throw a BONE to the RW crowd. Man has little self control in general, they poison themselves and the environment. We have drinking and smoking threads on NYA. NP better them than me. If we can't control our own domain, surely the environment is out of reach. Not to discouraging trying...hopefully we can change.

@movetheboat

I must express my disappointment in your apparent lack of critical thinking, as it seems you are unable to see beyond the biased rhetoric surrounding this issue. Your strong partisan stance prevents you from recognizing the true nature of the situation.

Given the tone of your response, I find it futile to engage in further debate. It appears that you do not take this discussion seriously and consider it a mere source of amusement. Your dismissive comment regarding windmills indicates a clear ignorance of the factual evidence.

I will simply keep post the facts . . . you know like the 6 dead whales that does this week.

The problem you're missing here is that even if we could all agree that climate change is an issue, the solutions being forced are being decided by politicians and the big corporate cabal that you lefties rail against.

Instead of practical solutions devised by people with a background in engineering and power generation and distribution we have politicians who don't have the mental power to light a quarter watt LED deciding that everything has to be electric, powered by sunshine and breezes, and forcing the population into vehicles and an energy supply that is doomed to failure at a ridiculous cost. Not to mention the environmental damage the bogus solution it is doing.

We're not only pursuing a dead-end path, we're doing an incredible amount of damage in the process. Meanwhile, we're missing the opportunity to achieve meaningful solutions. And strangely the Uber environmentalists who stymied the better solutions are now silent as more damage is done to the environment than ever. Tell me that there isn't something very wrong with this picture.

whenever a whale washed up dead in years past it was big news, with people trying to go see it before it was buried. I worked at Jones Beach from '69 through '76 and please, let someone else research how many whales beached in those years from Atlantic Beach to Kismet. (Leaving soon for my battalion's reunion.) Now its "same ole, same ole?" What on our coastline had changed the last two years ? Inlet dredging ?

Could population growth have something to do with it?

I'm not missing anything...and yes the ultra left and right have screwed us bigtime....neither one is MY side. They can't even decide if it's night or day.....consider the debt ceiling right now

Well, you're not wrong about that part.

Too bad the fate of the society and the planet are being decided by fools

You are not immune to to the same type of response if you dish out stuff like that you know. You have no right to dismiss my reply like that!! Since we are letting civility fly out the window I feel the same way about your thoughts on this matter. This is the ongoing problem for years when thoughts that go against the grain are expressed. They are dismissed as disruptive, trolling, or some kind of posters amusement. Why, because no one has factual responses and they all bail out.

WD? Come and get it :)
