Do they think we're idiots!

Here is an updated list of Incidental Takes from Maine to South Carolina.

Not to be the devil's advocate, but how do you go over 100% in the last column?
No one really knows the stock size?

Horrible numbers though

well this is scary - but will we pay heed?

Nope. Can't let reality get in the way of saving the world. Don't you understand what's at stake here? No cost is too great to bear to save the entire frikin' world!

We see this over and over. It doesn't work! What's next a rubber band propeller to fly planes?

The UK's experience with offshore wind power serves as a warning to the United States, as the UK currently has 15 GW of offshore wind capacity compared to the US's goal of reaching 30 GW by 2030. However, the UK's electricity prices are now among the highest in Europe, partly due to the high cost of gas, which supplies nearly half of the country's electricity. Additionally, the UK's reliance on expensive offshore wind power contributes to the high prices. Offshore wind farms in the UK are costly to build and maintain, with capital costs more than four times higher than gas-burning turbines. Maintenance costs for offshore wind farms are also significant, with estimates reaching £200m per GW annually. Furthermore, wind farms in the UK do not consistently deliver their rated capacity over time, resulting in a lower capacity factor and less efficient energy production.

Charles Witek who I believe worked for NYS DEC, responded to my post on another website that "take" does not necessarily mean "kill." He said it can mean drive away, harass, etc. But tell that to the dead whales and other marine mammals. I thought I would throw this out there as well- why are we not seeing fish species washing up dead along with the whales? Although all the sound disruptions: could they be the reason for less bunker ( ? )

Yes but according to witek just the use of the word “take” standing alone doesn’t. Government BS ? Having worked for Uncle for 35 plus 28 wearing the green (but only on weekends lol) I truly trust nothing from any politico.

Maine lost a Minke yesterday, BUT you folks need to read this NY Times article on Vineyard Wind to see the photos of the blades of these monstrosities!! This a Fluster Cluck of humungous proportions!!

People in Massachusetts also say that from an early stage, the developers took seriously their concerns, like protecting endangered whales. “They have taken those things to heart, and they have mitigated what they could mitigate and come up with a pretty responsible project,” said Andrew Gottlieb, the director of the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, an environmental advocacy group.

Ms. Lapp said the wind farm site was a prime summer location for the squids that form much of her company’s business. She said that boats that netted the squids wouldn’t be able to safely fish between the turbines and that the huge structures would interfere with their radar, jeopardizing safety.

Vineyard Wind has tried to mollify the fishing industry by chartering boats to patrol the construction zone and providing around $40 million for potential lost catches. But Seafreeze and others have filed a lawsuit seeking the suspension of the Vineyard Wind lease, arguing that in the race to secure renewable energy, the federal government ignored its own environmental rules.

I don't need read the times to know that we are seeing the change of our coast and it's inhabitants that will destroy the tranquility that the ocean brings us now.. 3000 structures, the height of the Eiffel Tower, with the boards the length of a 747, are certain to change the natural landscape of the ocean forever.

I know you don't need to read that, but the photos that show size of the blades on the deck of large ships really drives home the message. I've read all the stats too, but these photos drew a very large "Holy CRAP!!" response.
