Drift sock ?

I only use it when the wind exceeds the current by about double, say 8 to 4, and that is when you will notice the sock drags the boat, filling up behind you in the opposite direction of the drift (as if its a huge squid and spearing being dragged, something I haven't done since 2005 or so.) I used to think that my catch and the sock would tangle, but it happened to me only once when I hooked a weak and stupidly had not shifted the sock with the anchor trolley to bow or stern beforehand. (Both the lines of the sock and my netting of the fish were right off the middle of my kayak.) the resultant mess became too comical to even curse.
