Fish Scaler

Really? I haven't found that to be true. In fact as I recall, it seems to throw way less scales than any other scaler I've ever tried. I bring it along on Capt. Mike's boat because he has through-deck scuppers that have been known to clog with porgy scales. Since using this particular scaler that problem seems to be remedied, at least on the porgy trips I've been on with him.

In any case, I can't imagine scaling/cleaning porgies in my kitchen either. I'm pretty sure wifey would do a full melt-down. Even though she does love eating fish., she just doesn't love her kitchen looking or smelling like Two Cousins Fish Market - even temporarily.

I've never been to an H Mart. We keep seeing the advertisements in some local publications and we're intrigued, the wife and I, as we love cooking and eating all sorts of different foods, including Asian. Is it worth the trip? We would be hitting the one in Jericho.

I think if I intended on scaling fish in a bucket of water the time to do it would be on the boat, where I had access to a bucket of salt water.

Scaling in the kitchen !!. I am not allowed to even filet fish in the kitchen. All my fish, whether caught in May or late November, get cleaned and skinned outside on an old repurposed barbecue grill stand. If its dark out the porch light is lit. A happy wife leads to a happy life !

Maybe I get a bit carried away with it. She kept finding curled up bits of "plastic" around the counter days after I scale fish with em.

These days, I usually do it out side on the fish cleaning table I built, but the plastic nubby ones makes cleaning the area a real breeze. ?

If you guys wanna see something incredible, look up Josh Niland fish butchery on YT. One of my favorite chefs right now from Australia doing insane things. He doesn't scale his fish, but skins them whole.
