Fish Thieves

Got out early this morning as the flood tide was just over, & headed east of Plum Island. First stop, & the first crab hits the bottom, a solid hit & a 5 pound Blackfish is on ice, wow what a start, then 6 or 7 shorts find the bait. Finally get what feels like another keeper on, & half way up the fish makes a dive for the bottom, & I'm feeling good until line starts to peal off the reel, this is no blackfish, line goes slack & a big seal pops up, he gets two more fish & rigs before I'm smart enough to move. The ebb tide is really cranking by now, find a spot where the tide isn't so strong & it takes countless shorts until two more keepers hit the deck, by now it's after lunch & the S/W wind is strong, & it's a sporty ride back to the dock.

That's making the most of the ridiculously short weather windows we are getting this fall.
