That makes no sense. Even if you fished NJ waters and kept fish legally, when you reentered NY waters, if you were boarded you would have illegal fish.from what you're saying when NJ Sea bass season is open and ny is closed they can fish in New York waters and keep bass.
DEC should board out of state boats during misaligned seasons...Here's a couple of real nice biscuits taken on Capt. Mike's boat during the Spring Porgy run - both went back - which about killed me. We caught MANY such fish that day. You can bet your last GULP! grub that the Conn. boats fishing deep in the Peconics ain't throwin' those fish back.

Send that to their meetings as "Exhibit 1 "
This is so spot on and not just with marine fisheries.

Also a 1" slot is so very tight as to be ridiculous. That 17.0" fish ain't going to be 17.0 if it sits in the sun, along with an 18.0" fish going from over the slot, into the high end of the slot...NJ has voted on and approved option 2:
May 2 - Sep 27 .... 2 slots between 17 and 17.99 and 1 over 18
Opinion: 2 fish to fit inside a 1" slot coupled with inevitable high grading for that single over 18 - could be recipe for trouble.... although the party boats will enjoy it...
