Hell you once posted that your parents wanted you to be a doctor, but you couldn't handle the academics and disappointed them.

Or did you forget that?

That being said, Orthopedic Surgeons are highly educated mechanics/carpenters. Of all the medical specialties they're the only ones using saws, hammers and chisels, BUT there's a massive amount of scientific knowledge that must be mastered and constantly updated. Add to that, there's the IT needed to run and master the new generation of robotic surgical instruments...
