Funny pics

Here it is, much better than his selling daffodils roadside ad. I forgot all the stars in it besides Best and Sting, Tom Jones (nice to have a Welshman) there, Sir Richard Attenborough, Wallace and Gromit, et al. Not sure who the person is in front of the Westham logo...

Always amazed at how you could duck a laser weapon, and how Kirk could talk his way out of many situations.

I think you are drawing the wrong conclusion from these statistics. What I perceive is the available jobs are low skill, low pay jobs, that are not careers. Yes, too many kids that shouldn't go to college go. We are crushing graduates with debt. However, these problems go away if available jobs paid in current dollars what our parents could make.

I don't know if that quote is really Mike Rowe, but if you think he's advocating skipping college for a burger-flipping job you don't know what he's about.

He’s advocating for the available skilled Trade Jobs, i.e. electrician, plumber, carpenter, construction. These pay very well after you put in your time.

exactly........................

And for the record - there is literally no job that requires college in general business unless you are going to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, chemist, etc. Most if not all jobs in business simply require a good bit of common sense & intelligence - I rarely met ANYONE in the 42 years I was in general business(Estee Lauder) that used anything they learned in college. All a college degree got them was an interview for a job.

There is WAY TOO much emphasis on college these days which is forcing too many people to spend was too much money that they don't have on something that isn't even required except that society as a whole is forcing people to do this - which is what I believe the point of the whole meme was.

I think college is still a good route for many. It doesn't matter if you use what you studied. College teaches you how to learn. That's a valuable skill you carry thru life. IMHO.

Capt13 ,I believe if you didn't learn how to learn by the time you are in your collage years your just wasting a good four years and a boatload of money going to collage. There is too many smart people these days that don't know how to work. What the high schools should be teaching now is work ethic.I'v met too many collage grads who can not hold a job to pay off their loans.
