Good Monday Morning NYA!!! We finally got some rain last night, the ONLY real rain in the entire month of June. It's still raining lightly, but I think I'll take the morning off from fishing. The wind is more disconcerting than getting a little wet.

Hope you all have a safe and healthy day!!

Yeah, after I typed that the sky opened. Still if it was calm out there I'd be fishing. Once fished with my brother on LI in pouring rain and at one point the bass were swimming around on the bottom of our tin boat, "Hey Lenny, think we should do some bailing now?"

Yup, that's why they make Grungens. :giggle:

Nah, I'm so old my fishing foul weather gear are Hellys which sat in an IL basement for 27 years. I don't even know how to spell that "G" company...
I thought you used Hellys because you were a Sailor. People on blow boats wouldn't get caught with Grundens on board because their not stylish enough. :giggle:

Nice fish JoeB, !! (y)

True enough, but back in the mid-70s I don't think Helly even made "Rag Sailor Apparel", everything I saw was commercial fishing stuff. All us Lawnguylanders fished in Hellys. I had never seen Grundens back then, not even sure if they even had followed Hellys from Scandinavia over the pond to the US yet.

I was shocked in the late 80s to see "stylish" Hellys and vowed never to buy again. During my banishment to the Midwest, my Atlantis (RIP) sailing gear wore out while watching soccer tournaments in the pouring rain, so I bought some nice Patagonia gear at the Freeport store. Now that my Hellys are shot, I've been using that fancy, schmancy Patagonia blow boat gear for fishing since I no longer sail.

Patagonia is another company that sold out to the "stylish folks". Their foul weather gear used to be great for sailing, but now they focus more on yoga pants than true sportsmen. Want to see something funny, watch me harangue the folks in Freeport about their corporate decisions regarding foul weather gear? I have not bought a single thing there for myself in over 20 years, but my kids love their "stylish" crap. Most times I send the Admiral into the store, because I know I'll lose my cool going in...

I have yellow Hellys and orange Grundens...ready for any class of peeps I fish with ?

Funny, i thought their was only One class of fisherman.

Orange. ;) before Grundens came to USA we wore Oilskins Black cloth coated with some kind of oily rubbery stuff. BTW Grundens like so many other company's went to Guess where.
