I did grow up on Lawnguyland, and Pemaquid does have a one of those rare Maine sandy beaches where I get to watch other "People From Away" demonstrate their inability to read waves. When you need comic relief you have both Reid and Popham beaches for your comic relief...

OMG, you just gave away the location of 3 of the 4 beaches in Maine. Now we'll me inundated with folks who think they can actually swim in the water.

My bad, but I think we're still safe since we're way too far Downeast. I'm pretty sure most PFAs get off the Turnpike before Portland to visit "Joisey Shore North". It meets all their requirements: seedy hotels, amusement parks, crowded as hell, a boardwalk with rides and multiple shops that cater to touristas, ice cream, tee shirts and tasteless tchotckes.

Either way, there is no cure for GOM temps. As a friend of ours once remarked, "Nobody in their right mind over the age of 13 swims in the ocean in Maine."
