Wal-Mart every now and then throws a sale on the 6" Pint of Grubs. Pink Shine is at $9.69 right now. I stocked up last year, but we know how quick it can go. On the 6" I usually stick to Pink shine, nuclear chicken, and pearl white so it pays to check every couple weeks to see if the colors change that are on sale.

My current stock.. 5" and 6" are in one pickle container and 4" and below are in another. I decided to use 2 seperate containers because early in season when they are feeding on grass shrimp and sand eels, no reason to be throwing that big stuff over
So its easier to have them in different containers.

Thank you Matt! - ordered those and some of the on-sale 5" grubs in various colors as well. Actually, I prefer the 5" size for my needs. Less short bites.

If you'll be at the Ward Melville or Somerset shows checkout my NJ buddy Gulpguy Al, he's selling everything (grubs, mullets, sandeels, shads, all sizes) 3 packs for $20. His margin on Pink Shine and White Glow is less but his show price is same for all colors. He also sells the small stuff (shrimp, 3", 4" mullet) for $6 a pack. He did the Philly show last weekend, had a huge turnout...

I usually cut 1" off the fat end of the 6" grubs for same reason. Unless I'm using long shank Owner 7/0+ hooks where the full size 6" grubs is perfect. I've not done well with the 8" grubs but I'll keep trying. Gulpguy Al ^^ uses the 6" mullet and has won several tournaments with them....

You've never fished with Chef Nader then! He brought a home depot 5 gallon bucket with the lid on Capt Mike's boat for a Montauk fluke trip last year! Filled with Gulp! and the juice.

I believe in the effectiveness of Gulp as much as anyone, but it is true some folks really go to the extreme with the amount they bring aboard.

I had to politely explain to the Chef last year the 5-gallon bucket was not just overkill but represented a hazard should that ridiculously heavy pail slide across the deck on a bumpy sea.

When you need a hand truck just to get your Gulp supply down to the boat it's time to begin questioning your sanity!!
