Gulp! Sale

Wal-Mart every now and then throws a sale on the 6" Pint of Grubs. Pink Shine is at $9.69 right now. I stocked up last year, but we know how quick it can go. On the 6" I usually stick to Pink shine, nuclear chicken, and pearl white so it pays to check every couple weeks to see if the colors change that are on sale.

My current stock.. 5" and 6" are in one pickle container and 4" and below are in another. I decided to use 2 seperate containers because early in season when they are feeding on grass shrimp and sand eels, no reason to be throwing that big stuff over
So its easier to have them in different containers.

If you'll be at the Ward Melville or Somerset shows checkout my NJ buddy Gulpguy Al, he's selling everything (grubs, mullets, sandeels, shads, all sizes) 3 packs for $20. His margin on Pink Shine and White Glow is less but his show price is same for all colors. He also sells the small stuff (shrimp, 3", 4" mullet) for $6 a pack. He did the Philly show last weekend, had a huge turnout...

You haves a gulp issue.

I believe in the effectiveness of Gulp as much as anyone, but it is true some folks really go to the extreme with the amount they bring aboard.

I had to politely explain to the Chef last year the 5-gallon bucket was not just overkill but represented a hazard should that ridiculously heavy pail slide across the deck on a bumpy sea.

When you need a hand truck just to get your Gulp supply down to the boat it's time to begin questioning your sanity!!

It's ridiculous actually. Sounds like he's just too lazy to separate a one day supply from his entire inventory.......

Just got my Walmart order 6 & 5" versions. Don't know why the 5" bottles are cloudy. Maybe the cold in the FedEx truck. Meh, for the money I don't really care. For those that will ask, there's 10 pcs per bottle, plus at least $3-$4 worth of the juice as well. Good deal at what amounts to less than half the price of the bags of 4 pcs.

I do notice that the tub versions seem to be softer then some of the ones that come in the packages.
Others have said this as well. I have used both, and regret not buying more of the older bagged ones when I was getting them at 4 bucks a pop. I often catch four or five fluke or more, mostly shorts, before the bagged Gulp! in 4" size (I just fish the back bay for fluke and weaks) have to be replaced.

Meh, I don't worry so much about that, because I find that I lose nearly as many GULP! baits to snagged rigs as I do to tail bite-offs. Sux for sure, but fishing where I fish, I don't expect much longevity from any bait, or rig for that matter.

What I truly hate is having a slow-catch trip and STILL losing a good number of rigs to the rocks. Uggh. 🙁
