Due to the unique nature of the land surrounding the initial New Orleans settlement, the city has a very unique elevation, with parts of it actually being below sea level. Allow me to amend that to the French Quarter.
And with the forecasted 7-11 ft Storm Surge predicted for the anticipated Cat 2 landfall of Ida somewhere nearby, there may be snorkel tours of the Quarter this fall...
