We know Alex wanted Ken, when filming Alex’s wife came to set on first day to present Ken with several personal belongings of Alex’s. Mrs. Trebek told Ken Alex wanted her to do this when Ken starts.

Ken was wearing cuflinks and several other items that belonged to Alex last night.
