Jets

I've been posting here and elsewhere for a couple of years now. The problem was never about Zach, or Sam or anyone else. The same thing would have happened with Aaron. The problem has always been the O-Line. Let's go back to the O-Line when Broadway Joe was the QB. That line was a brick wall with the likes of Winston Hill, Sherman Plunkett, Dave Herman, Randy Rasmussen, Bob Talamini and John Schmitt. It was a line that was built around protecting the QB and a passing oriented offense. With this line today, even Namath would have appeared terrible. IMHO, what the Jets need to do is to forget about changing QB's every couple of years. Stay with Zach but draft or trade for a quality O Line with some quality backup linemen. We already have the glamour positions covered. We just need to protect them.

@Jaws1948 I think it's too late for Zach here and I agree the line is a disaster. But it was pretty good early on before all of their injuries.

I hope Hackett does better with Aaron next year.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Just go back to the first game. Rodgers was under pressure and got injured. Last season, Mike White got destroyed and on and on.

All coaching.

In contrast, look at Miami. Tua was on the brink of having to retire after getting his head banged around. Then they got better players around him and stopped dropping him back. 2-3 step drops and the guy has stayed healthy. That's coaching.

Why was Zach STILL taking 5step drops????? That's also coaching.

They better find a way to protect Rodgers otherwise next season will be the same old, same old.......

a QB needs an OL
Gino was awful, but look at him now. Fitzpatrick was fun to watch, but not successful. He left and became FitzMagic. Flaco did nothing, but he's winning with the Browns. Tommy Cutlets (TM) stunk up the field at Syracuse for 2 years, but went 9-3 his Covid+ year at Illinois.
Much as I want to blame him, maybe it's not ALL Zach's fault.
Maybe we can suit up Sanchez?

Have the local news on for "background" this morning. When hearing about today's Jets v Patriots game my sick brain immediately thought, "This is what happens when both teams ride short buses!!"

They both had terrible seasons. I just hope the Pats win and continue the streak. Who knows might be Belichecks last game .

If Woody Johnson had a clue he would realize that coaching matters.

Joe Flacco looked like a washed up bum when he was here. In Cleveland, they made him look like an all-pro!

Never saw a player castrate a team the way Aaron Rodgers has the Jets.
He talks about not having distractions?
That's all this narcissist has brought with him since day 1!

Let him run for VP and slam the door behind when he leaves!

@overboard I'm not sure I agree. We have yet to see what he can do on the field with the Jets. A great QB can make a coaching staff look genius. Just look at Brady.

Now should they end up not making the playoffs, I'll agree with you.

This vp thing is nothing but a side show.

As an older and very long-suffering Jets fan, I was on the fence about getting Rodgers. After it happened I was all in thinking they could make the playoffs and maybe win a couple of rounds. Hmmmm........same old, same old. So here we are with the draft approaching. I wonder how much influence Rodgers has on Joe Douglas and his picks? Will they try to find their quarterback of the future with pick #10 or will they pick players and make trades with the intent of winning now? We know the answer. Will Rodgers now play one or two more years? Does anyone think he will have the longevity that Tom Brady had? To win in the AFC you need to be better than Kansas City, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Miami, and others. Building a winning team takes years. The teams I listed did not become winners in one or two seasons. So I see the Jets being winners next season but deep into the playoffs? I think not. Then where do they stand? Can Rodgers play at 43? Ha!! I hope he does run with RFK. Same old, same old.

regards Holty

I also are a Long time Jet fan, and is it painful at times. If they are sticking with Rogers then they need to work on the line. Just like Brady most veterans QB can throw the ball and hit their target if they have a line to protect him, if Brady’s line collapsed he was either crushed or running for his life. Give Rogers a line and protect him Jets make the playoffs. Let’s move on to the tight end Jeremy Ruckert not because I watched his entire JHS and high school career and knowing the family the kid has talent. They need to use him and throw to him. Guess we’ll see in a few weeks what they do on draft day.

No way to support or root for Rodgers in light of his comments about elementary school students getting mowed down being staged government actors. Despicable

That's 100% CNN Fake News. It was made up. Here's his response on X

"As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy. I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place,"

"Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community."

It's sad how news shapes our views of people.

THANK YOU!! Amazing how they get away with the nonsense they "report". And worse, people BELIEVE it to be fact.

I thought Justin Fields was a perfect fit for Jets backup. He's better than Taylor and would have cost nothing.

As far as oline goes, the guy they picked-up from Dallas is a beast but he can't stay healthy.
