Jigging World Hybrid Nano Carbon Casting Rods

New Angler
Not sure if anyone here has had a chance to try these yet but they sure look interesting. I ordered the 7'6'' heavy conventional based on the description. I intend to use it sea bass jigging and for deep water fluke. Based on the description it appears to be the night ranger carbon nano blank with SiC guides instead of titanium and EVA grips instead of cork. I am a fan of the EVA vs. their cork grips and frankly SiC guides shouldn't be too big a negative (if at all). I have a few customs that were built on the 7 foot 15-30 night ranger blanks and they are extremely sensitive with good power when you need it so really looking forward to seeing this thing first hand.

If anyone has any impressions on this one they are welcome.

Haven’t seen them as yet. I do recall watching a YT video or two in which they were being used. I think it was on EliasV’s channel. IIRC the rod appeared to perform real well on some very decent fish.

Do you know if they are using Fuji SIC guides or another company’s version?

They just mention SiC guides. Based on their other lines I would assume it is not Fuji, but even if its the same guides they use on the Nexus series it would be difficult to be disappointed. Under $200 for a nano carbon blank with decent components seems like a good value these days. My customs on the same blank but lighter action were $$$$..... granted with Torzite guides, winn faux cork grips and a sweet low pro reel seat.

I dunno, but for less than that the Skinner Dark Matter seems a good choice too. Just a thought . . .

THAT’S THE SPIRIT ! ! !

So when my rod arrived it actually ended up being the night ranger heavy model which at first I was a little disappointed to see, but once i took a closer look was pretty happy. The guides look great, super light, and the cork grips will grow on me. It was the 7'6 heavy model which I put the ocea jigger 1500 low gear on for now. My tranx 300 would be an equally good choice. Seems like a great deep water fluke (particularly if dragging 8 oz around) and sea bass rod. Also seems like its sensitive enough to throw a half ounce blackfish jig on and have a blast. I guess my review of the hybrid will have to wait....
