Long Island Emergency rooms are a disgrace !

An ambulance took my mother to St. Joseph's hospital after her AFIB flared up this morning. She arrived there around 5 in the morning. Emergency room was packed , my mother sat there an hour before a doctor saw her. Mercy, St. Francis Emergency Rooms are almost always packed with people.
I went to 2 hospital emergency rooms in upstate NY when my mother had AFIB , I went to the Chenango County Hospital in Norwich about 4 in the morning and there wasn't a single person waiting in the emergency room, Doctor and Nurse came right away and treated her AFIB successfully. 3 months later , I took my mother to the St. Peters Hospital Emergency room in Albany. My mother had AFIB again . Got to the hospital about 8 PM on a weekend and within minutes of getting there, a doctor saw her and treated her.
My mother seems fine . I've been to the Emergency Room with her at least 10 times the last year and a half.

Hey Pango, sorry to hear, she made a Heart Ablation… cell…
I'll look into that Ablation thing. This sounds very scary - Doctors sometimes stop a heart and start it again to get the heart rate stable again. Fire Dept. Paramedics stopped my mothers heart while she was laying in bed and started it again. Heart rate was normal again. Amazing they can stop a heart like that and start it.

i’m sure an electrophysiologist was suggested… many triggers of Afib are simple things: dehydration, alcohol, exertions, fast eating, overweight… etc,

btw, what’s moms age.??? good luck… cell…
