Green Island Trip:
Got out early, made Green island by 6:30 walked down the pier to the Eastern side and walked right into a BLITZ of Bluefish! Snapped on a 1/4oz 007 with a white tail and proceeded to catch 3, 8-10lb fish before they disappeared and popped up to far away to keep casting.
Switched out to a 2oz weight with a pink/silver Gulp Turbo Shrimp = trying to catch and Fluke that may have been under them eating the scraps - to bad they were not there, but there were a lot of triangular bites out of my Gulp - Guess the Blowfish are here!
Moved to the West side of the Pier - Used a fillet of bluefish and dropped down hoping for Sea Bass - Nope, instead I caught someone else's discarded rig, but there was a bonus - attached to their rig, that I caught was a 10 inch Oyster/Toad Fish/Mother-in-Law fish....That was a first!
Finally watch my brother using the Asian crabs he caught catch blackfish right under the Pier, So I changed my rig, put on a crab and caught 2 blackfish, one small one and one that was close to a keeper, if I had a tape measure and it was in season!
Jones Bach Field 6 trip:
Stared out putting on the Gulp Turbo Shrimp, because it worked yesterday and right away I was getting some hits, but these must have been DINKS, because I missed way more than I should have, needless to say, by the end of the trip I had 2 fluke on 8 inches and the other about 14 inches!
Man I had a great day! 4 Species, Time with my Brother and a beautiful day of relaxation!
