Montauk Round 2

live bait

Well-Known Angler
Made the run again yesterday from Greenport. Weather called for light S/W getting stronger early afternoon, should have been my first hint not to go. Got to the bass grounds during low slack, nothing doing. The tide began to run & still not much life, boats began to spread out, searching. Stuck it out for most of the tide, which wasn't very smart, cause by now the S/W was cranking. Ended the day with 2 bass, both over slot & returned, & one 22" fluke that hit a diamond jig. The ride back was slow & wet till I got to the ruins, a 1/2 mile or so of fog, then glass calm. Thought I would have had enough, but stopped by Plum Gut for a few drifts, 2 bass under slot. The back to the launch ramp, load the boat & get my tired ass home.

Always a beautiful image, even under tough conditions. Glad to hear you toughed it out and bent the rod. Plus, a nice Fluke dinner is certainly a bonus.
