Nice bass fishing

Went out Jones Inlet today(11/6) beginning of incoming around 9 AM , light wind from the east , small swells made it a little bumpy going out and then the ocean was flat as a lake the rest of the day. Beautiful mild day on the water . Water temp. was about 56 degrees. I exited Jones Inlet and saw the big fleet of boats between the inlet and the Pink Hotel. I stopped a short distance from the fleet to rig up my large Yellow Mojo. Let it to the bottom , reeled up a couple of turns and started trolling in 30 feet of water towards the fleet, No action, I continued trolling around the fleet , saw they were fishing with bunker and didn't see much action . Saw pods of bunker here and there , So I continued trolling towards the Pink Hotel in 30 feet of water and I saw some birds diving and I went over to investigate. Cast out a 3 inch bronze shad with a blue/silver 3 inch shad hooked underneath, didn't think I'd catch a fish with that shad combo , I jigged it back and bam I had my first bass on right off the Pink Hotel in about 30 feet of water. Thought it was a bluefish the way it ran out and up towards the surface and a minute later I got it boat side and it was a nice 25 pound bass that I had to net myself while holding the rod. I saw bass on the fishfinder as I got close to the birds. Just like that the fish /birds disappear and I had to search again. Trolled back to the fleet thinking I'd fish with the shads , a short distance from the fleet I got my second 25 pound bass on the Yellow MOJO . Went back and forth trolling between the fleet and the Pink Hotel and I caught my third 25 pounder , I fished with shads in the fleet, no action. 3 nice bass and a really nice day. There were probably 30-40 boats out there, I saw a small fleet of boats about 2 miles west of the Pink Hotel practically in the surf they were that close to the beach. Spoke to a guy at the ramp and he said the last month they've had the best bass fishing in years out there. I've been so busy with family matters . Hope that fishing continues. Weird not catching alligator blues any more , where did they go ?????
