On a related note, Turtles may be dumb, but they can be surprisingly quick when it comes to competing for a meal.
Many decades ago, when I was living and going to college in south Florida, I had a terrarium on the back deck of my parents home. In the tank were 2 pet frogs and a turtle. Whenever I would have some leftover nightcrawlers following a Bass fishing trip I would drop the remaining worms into the tank. That darn turtle would beat the frogs to the worm every time!!
