Nissequogue River Fluke

Hey guys, sorry for the late post. Went out yesterday morning and caught the last of ther incoming and outgoing, and never had to leave the back for steady action on 12-18-inch fluke. I did run outside for a bit, and I had some crazy marks. I wasn't sure what they were, and then I realized they were small mackerel. I tried my mackerel tree, but I don't know, they followed a thing up, but they weren't biting it, so I just gave it a short try and picked away at a couple small fluke outside on the ledge.

When I first got into the river, we're talking right by the boat ramp, I'm not sure I've ever seen that many sand eels in there. It was sand eels from one end to the other, jumping out all over the place and being chased by bass and fluke. What amazes me is again there's no one there. It's a kayak haven. It's a state park. You basically own it to yourself and It's a short row to the fish, and there's no one ever there. That's why I'm giving it up. I'm not afraid that I'm going to burn the spot. There's no one fishing.

I did see the Joseph and maybe one other boat off of SUnken Meadow but it was gorgeous out there, flat as a pancake. I had planned to go again this morning, which I should have done, but I chose to work on this website instead.

All the fish were taking on the smaller gulps, like the 4-inch. They seemed to like green, no meat, no squid. I don't use two bucktails. I just use a hook with the gulp on the top, and that was getting 90% of the fish. As I write this, I'm talking myself into going back right now. But I have work to do on this website.
