In a word - - disappointing. Season opened as usual on May 15th, but cold water shut off their inshore migration until June. On the NJ reefs you now catch them jigging when on sandeels, but when fishing the mussel beds put the jigs away, all they want is clams. Limit goes from 10 to one on June 22 so hopefully they keep moving inshore....
